Landward Management works, almost exclusively, in the rural sector analysing the economics of land use, environmental management and project management. It has completed a sizeable number of feasibility projects for South Island based clients wishing to establish hybrid and fully housed dairy farming systems. In addition it carries out assignments for the value of shares and interests in farming businesses and for land compensation matters for national and international clients. It has completed a number of investment proposal studies for fully housed milk production units. It also acts for a number of private clients that hold significant interests in dairy and pastoral farming.
Ray Macleod, the Manager of Landward founded the company fourteen years ago. He is responsible for the completion of land use feasibility studies. Ray has a background in civil engineering and is also a graduate of Otago University, holding a BCom in economics. Ray has specialised in land economics and in particular the efficient use of capital and production inputs to generate margins and free cashflow from farming operations and to reduce reliance upon land value appreciation as the main source of wealth creation in the rural sector.
